Our area of Union County originally belonged to the Cherokee Indians. It was incorporated in 1835 with a total area of 322.7 square miles with an elevation of 1600 to 4784 feet above sea level. Brass town Bald is our highest mountain in Georgia.
Our Population is around 21,356 full time residents and several employers as well as Young Harris College which has become a progressive 4 year college. We also have North Georgia Tech which has a fine culinary school.
We have numerous Vacation Rental properties for our visitors to come and enjoy a stay for a vacation or to purchase and put into a rental program to help defray the cost of owning. We are known for our vacation area where there is something for everyone to do, whether it be fishing rafting, boating, hiking, cycling, wine tasting, spa treatment, eating or just finding a rocking chair with a good book and watching the mountains as they change daily.
